This backing track is all about shredding that A minor pentatonic!
But once you’ve done that, add some more notes: a 9th, 11th, and, most importantly, a major 6th. Then you have A dorian, and it works on both the A minor chord and the D7 chord. Of course you can also play A aeolian (= natural minor, with a minor 6th) on the A minor chord, and then switch to A dorian on the D7 chord (= same notes as D mixolydian).
The E9 chord can be tackled with E mixolydian, but since it is the dominant 7 chord of A minor, you can add pretty much all known eccentricities, as long as you plan a gentle resolution on A minor. Have fun! 🙂
