“Blue in Green” is a jazz standard featured on Miles Davis’ “Kind of Blue” album, released in 1959. The credits of the composition go to Miles Davis, although it is speculated that Bill Evans wrote the tune.

This backing track features the chord progression in a modern jazz/fusion style.

This progression is perfect to slowly work on finding which notes sound best on each chord. Although the song is in the key of D minor, each couple of measures has to be considered as a group with particular colors. There also is a lot of space to work on the V chords, A7, F7, E7, either as mixolydian chords or as something else completely (using secondary dominants chords, or the whole-tone, diminished or semi-diminished scales).
